nieuCommunities stuff

communion, community, & mission

Monday

I once heard it said...

Trying to do NieuCommunities can be a lot like:

Road Trips

This summer our team hosted and ran 3 Road Trips.
A Road Trip is not like a mission trip. They are journeys that invite people to be a part of. The total number of R. Trippers was 28! Each one was lead by a different person and involved a classroom experience, a look into what our team is doing in Glasgow, and volunteering in various ministries in the city. (mission, prayer walk, acts of kindness etc.)

Basically, these act as mini Nieucommunities experiences. Not everyone can be a part of a 42 week experience, but a 10 day experience in communion, community and mission seems more realistic. Our aim is to increase availability, impact, and turn over. We want more and more people to become infected with the sense of being a "called" one!

The last Road Trip of the summer involved two friends of mine! I was excited when I heard that Sarah was going to come join us for 10 days! I was even more happy to hear that she was going to stay an extra few days with us! It was a joy to have her be a part of our lives, see our ministry, and put her to work; praying, baby-sitting, and flat cleaning! HA. (I'm not joking)
The second friend was Erica. She is a long time family friend. I may have had something to do with Sarah joining us... but I had no idea Erica was interested in this kind of a trip. She heard of it through her church Rock Harbor. I heard she was coming only a few weeks before she was to fly over. Again, it is so good to have friends and family come and join our lives in Glasgow.

Maybe you could be next?
Come check out these Road Trips ... and come check out what is happening in Glasgow.
